Commute and flights
If this is you

On a plane, the rumble actually drops.

SoundGuys says ANC cuts low-frequency noise such as an airplane engine. With ANC at maximum, most noise around you sounded about one-quarter as loud.

“With the headphones on and ANC set to maximum, most noise around you will only sound about one-quarter as loud as without the headphones.”

Plane hum can still sneak past at low volume.

ZDNET heard fridge, mower, AC, and plane hum leak through. Turning the volume just over 50% covered it. Conditional: quiet listening is the weak case, not the whole commute.

“Droning noises, like a refrigerator, lawnmower, AC unit, or the hum of a plane, can sneak past the Space One's ANC, but turning the volume right over 50% eliminates this problem.”

Long travel days
If this is you

One charge covers a long trip with ANC on.

SoundGuys ran their battery test with ANC on. The Space One lasted 42 hours and 57 minutes, in line with the 40-hour claim.

“In our battery test, the Anker Soundcore Space One lasted 42 hours and 57 minutes (ANC on) on a single charge.”

The cups press after a couple of hours.

ZDNET says the circular cups lean on-ear. Two-hour blocks, then a short break for ear fatigue. The battery outlasts the fit.

“The circular Space One earcups can press the ears a little too tight. I wore the Space One headphones for two-hour increments, then removed them briefly to alleviate ear fatigue.”

Packing them
If this is you

The cups fold, so they go in a bag.

SoundGuys liked the swivel-and-fold cups. That is the travel argument for over-ears at this price.

“The headband clicks into various sizes, while the ear cups swivel and fold for excellent portability.”

The pouch is cloth, not a hard case.

SoundGuys lists the carrying case as not hardcover. ZDNET calls it a drawstring bag. It packs small. It does not take a knock.

“There's only one real complaint I have about these headphones: the carrying case -- or carrying dust bag, I should say.”

What that adds up to

  • Flights: engine rumble drops. Plane hum can still sneak past at low volume.
  • Long days: about 43h with ANC in one lab. The pouch is cloth, not a hard case.
  • Wear: light plastic, circular cups. Two-hour blocks needed a break in one test.
